Welcome to Norstar Studio. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of our website and the provision of our audio post production services. By accessing our website or engaging Norstar Studio for any service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our services.
1. Definitions
Norstar Studio refers to the audio post production studio owned and operated by Dhruv, providing professional audio post production services to clients worldwide.
Client refers to any individual, business, or entity that engages Norstar Studio for services.
Services refers to all audio post production services provided by Norstar Studio, including but not limited to audio cleaning and restoration, dialogue clarity and enhancement, sound design and SFX integration, audio mixing and mastering, and any related or custom audio post production work.
Project refers to any specific piece of work commissioned by the Client under these Terms.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging Norstar Studio for any service — whether through our website, email, or any other channel — you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in full. These Terms apply to all agreements between Norstar Studio and the Client, whether verbal or written.
3. Services
Norstar Studio specialises in professional audio post production for podcasters, YouTube content creators, and digital media producers. Our services include:
- Audio cleaning and noise restoration
- Dialogue clarity and enhancement
- Sound design and SFX integration
- Licensed music sourcing and integration
- Audio mixing and mastering
- Platform-optimised final delivery
- Custom audio post production work
All services are rendered according to the specifications agreed upon by both Norstar Studio and the Client at the time of booking. Norstar Studio does not compose or produce original music. All music integrated into client projects is sourced from licensed, royalty-free libraries.
4. Packages and Pricing
Norstar Studio currently offers three standard packages:
- Clarity Pack — Audio cleaning, dialogue clarity, noise removal, and basic level balancing
- Creator Suite — Full audio post production including music integration, SFX, mixing, and mastering
- Pro Suite — Premium post production with priority delivery, personal sound profile, and feedback session
All packages are priced per episode based on recording length. Full pricing details are available on our Services page.
Custom projects outside of standard packages are subject to individual agreements between Norstar Studio and the Client.
Prices are subject to change at any time but will not affect projects already confirmed and deposited.
5. Ordering Process
Quotations: All services are provided based on a confirmed package selection or a custom quotation. Custom quotations are valid for 7 days from the date of issue.
Order Confirmation: An order is confirmed once the Client has agreed to the project brief and paid the required deposit. No work will commence until the deposit is received.
Custom Orders: Custom projects outside of standard packages are subject to individual written agreements between Norstar Studio and the Client prior to commencement.
6. Payment Terms
Deposit: A 50% deposit is required before work begins on any project. The remaining 50% balance is due upon delivery of the completed final file, before the approved final version is released to the Client.
Rush Delivery: Rush delivery add-ons (24-hour or 12-hour turnaround) must be paid in full upfront at the time of booking, in addition to the standard package deposit.
Payment Methods: Norstar Studio accepts payment via PayPal, Wise, Payoneer, and debit or credit card.
Late Payments: Norstar Studio reserves the right to withhold final deliverables until all outstanding payments are received. Continued non-payment may result in project cancellation without refund of the deposit paid.
Currency: All prices are listed and charged in United States Dollars (USD).
7. Poor Audio Quality Surcharge
If a raw recording submitted by the Client contains severe damage, extreme background noise, very low recording levels, or any other condition that significantly increases the restoration workload beyond standard scope, Norstar Studio will notify the Client before commencing work. An additional surcharge of $20–$30 may apply depending on the severity. No additional charges will be applied without the Client’s prior approval.
8. Revisions and Modifications
Included Revisions: Every project includes 2 revision rounds at no additional cost. Revision requests must be submitted within 7 days of the final delivery date.
Scope of Revisions: A revision means adjusting or refining the existing delivered work based on the Client’s feedback — for example, adjusting music volume, modifying dialogue levels, or repositioning a sound effect. Revisions do not include structural changes, new content additions, or requests that fall outside the original agreed project brief.
Additional Revisions: Revision requests beyond the 2 included rounds, or requests that fall outside the original scope, will be quoted and charged separately before any additional work begins.
9. Turnaround Time and Delivery
Standard Delivery Times:
- Clarity Pack — within 48 hours
- Creator Suite — within 48 hours
- Pro Suite — within 48 hours
Rush Delivery:
- 24-hour turnaround — available on any package for an additional $30
- 12-hour turnaround — available on any package for an additional $55
Rush delivery availability is subject to Norstar Studio’s current schedule and must be confirmed at the time of booking.
Delivery Method: Completed files are delivered electronically via email or a file-sharing service agreed upon at the time of booking.
Client Delays: If delays occur on the Client’s end — including failure to provide necessary materials, files, or approvals — Norstar Studio is not responsible for missed deadlines. Revised delivery timelines will be agreed upon once the required materials are received.
Unforeseen Delays: While Norstar Studio strives to meet all agreed delivery times, unforeseen circumstances may occasionally cause delays. Clients will be notified promptly if this occurs.
10. Refunds and Cancellations
Refund Policy: Due to the nature of audio post production services, all sales are final. Refunds will only be considered in exceptional circumstances — specifically, in the event of a failure by Norstar Studio to deliver the agreed service — and are subject to Norstar Studio’s discretion.
Cancellations Before Work Begins: If the Client cancels their order before work has commenced, the deposit paid will be refunded in full.
Cancellations After Work Begins: If the Client cancels after work has started, the deposit is non-refundable. If the full payment has already been made, a partial refund will be issued reflecting the work completed up to the point of cancellation.
11. Intellectual Property Rights
Client Materials: The Client retains full ownership of all audio files and materials submitted to Norstar Studio for processing. By submitting materials, the Client confirms that they hold the necessary rights and permissions for Norstar Studio to work on the project.
Completed Work: Upon receipt of full payment, ownership of the completed, processed audio file is transferred to the Client.
Portfolio Use: Norstar Studio reserves the right to use completed work — in whole or in part — for portfolio, marketing, and promotional purposes, including on the Norstar Studio website and social media channels. If the Client does not wish their work to be used for this purpose, they must notify Norstar Studio in writing at the time of booking. Norstar Studio will always respect such requests.
Original Project Files: Norstar Studio retains ownership of all original working project files, session files, and internal assets used during production. Only the agreed final deliverable is transferred to the Client.
12. Music and Licensing
All music integrated into client projects is sourced from licensed, royalty-free music libraries under subscription plans that cover commercial client delivery. Norstar Studio takes reasonable steps to ensure all music used is safe for distribution on major platforms including YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.
However, Norstar Studio cannot guarantee platform-specific copyright claim outcomes, as these are determined by individual platform algorithms and policies outside our control. If the Client provides their own licensed music for integration, the Client accepts full responsibility for ensuring that music is appropriately licensed for their intended use.
13. Confidentiality
Norstar Studio treats all Client files, materials, and project information with strict confidentiality. We will not share your files, project details, or personal information with any third party without your explicit consent, except where required to complete the services — for example, using a file-sharing platform for delivery.
14. Limitation of Liability
Norstar Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services, including but not limited to loss of revenue, business interruption, loss of data, or platform penalties.
Norstar Studio’s total liability for any claim related to a specific project will not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for that project. Any claim must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the event giving rise to the claim.
15. Indemnification
The Client agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Norstar Studio and its founder from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising from the Client’s use of our services, breach of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights through materials submitted to Norstar Studio.
16. Termination
Termination by Norstar Studio: Norstar Studio reserves the right to terminate any project or service agreement if the Client breaches these Terms, fails to make required payments, or engages in conduct deemed inappropriate or harmful. Upon termination, any payments due for work completed will remain payable and no refunds will be issued.
Termination by the Client: The Client may terminate a service agreement at any time by providing written notice to Norstar Studio. The Client will remain responsible for payment of all work completed up to the point of termination. If a deposit has been paid and work has commenced, the deposit is non-refundable.
17. Force Majeure
Norstar Studio is not liable for any failure or delay in delivering services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government restrictions, power outages, or internet service failures.
18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
Governing Law: These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms will fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of India.
Dispute Resolution: Norstar Studio and the Client will first attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved amicably within 30 days, it will be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with applicable Indian law.
19. Changes to These Terms
Norstar Studio reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Clients will be notified of any significant changes via email or a notice on our website. Continued use of our services following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. It is the Client’s responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect without modification.
