Frequently Asked Question

Everything you need to know about working with Norstar Studio — from pricing and delivery to file formats and music licensing. If your question is not covered here, feel free to get in touch directly and we will be happy to help.

1. What packages does Norstar Studio offer?

We offer three audio post production packages designed to suit different needs and budgets.

The Clarity Pack covers audio cleaning, dialogue clarity, noise removal, and basic level balancing — starting at $35 for episodes up to 30 minutes. The Creator Suite includes everything in the Clarity Pack plus licensed music integration, sound effects, full mixing, and mastering — starting at $75. The Pro Suite is our premium offering, adding priority delivery, a personal sound profile, and a 15-minute feedback session — starting at $120.

All packages are priced per episode based on recording length. Visit our Services page for the full pricing breakdown.

2. Why do you charge per episode instead of by the hour?

Per-episode pricing is fairer and more predictable for both you and us. You know your exact cost before we start — no surprise invoices and no uncertainty. It also means our pricing stays consistent regardless of how long a particular task takes on our end.

3. Do you offer custom pricing for larger projects?

Yes. If you have a series of episodes, a long-form project, or ongoing monthly work, get in touch and we will put together a custom quote tailored to your specific requirements.

4. How long does delivery take?

Standard delivery times depend on your package. The Clarity Pack is delivered within 48 hours. The Creator Suite is delivered within 72 hours. The Pro Suite is delivered within 48 hours as standard.

If you need your project faster, rush delivery is available on any package — 24-hour turnaround for an additional $30, or 12-hour turnaround for an additional $55.

5. What happens if my project is more complex than expected?

If your recording has severe damage, extreme background noise, or unusually complex restoration needs, we will notify you before starting work. We will explain what is needed and discuss your options — including any additional cost — before proceeding. Nothing changes without your approval first.

6. How does the process work from start to finish?

The process is straightforward. You get in touch and tell us about your project. We review your brief, confirm the right package, and send you an invoice for the 50% deposit. Once the deposit is received, you send us your raw audio file and we begin work. We deliver your completed file within the agreed timeframe. You review it and request any revisions within your included rounds. Once approved, the remaining balance is due and your final file is delivered.

7. Do I need to prepare my audio file before sending it?

No. You send us your raw recording exactly as it is — unedited and untreated. That is where our work begins. The only thing we ask is that you send the highest quality version of the file available, ideally in WAV or a lossless format, so we have the best possible source to work with.

8. What file formats do you accept?

We accept most standard audio and video file formats including WAV, MP3, MP4, MOV, AIFF, and FLAC. If you are unsure whether your file format is supported, simply get in touch before submitting and we will confirm.

9. What format will my finished file be delivered in?

We deliver your final audio as a WAV or MP3 file — whichever your platform requires. If you need a specific format or sample rate for your platform or editor, let us know when you submit your project and we will accommodate that.

10. How many revisions are included?

Every package includes 2 revision rounds. A revision means adjusting or refining the existing delivered work based on your feedback — for example, adjusting music volume, tweaking dialogue levels, or modifying the placement of a sound effect.

Revisions do not cover structural changes, adding new content, or requests that go beyond the original project brief. If additional work is needed outside the scope, we will quote that separately before proceeding.

We source all music from reputable, licensed, royalty-free music libraries using subscription plans that cover commercial client delivery. This means every piece of music we integrate into your content is fully licensed and safe for use on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and all major platforms — with no risk of copyright claims or strikes.

If you have your own music library subscription, we are also happy to work within that instead.

12. How does payment work?

We require a 50% deposit before work begins. The remaining 50% is due upon delivery of your completed file, before the final approved version is released to you. We accept payment via the methods listed on our Contact page.

13. How do you accept payment?

We accept payment via PayPal, Wise, Payoneer, and debit or credit card — whichever works best for you. Payment details are shared upon booking confirmation.
